The Breguet Tradition Quantième Rétrograde 7597 is a particularly striking expression of Breguet's history because much of the movement architecture normally hidden beneath a dial becomes the visual centerpiece of the watch. The off-centered guilloché time display sits at 12 o'clock, surrounded by exposed bridges, wheels, barrel, and regulating components inspired by the construction of Abraham-Louis Breguet's historic subscription watches.
Its defining complication is the dramatic retrograde date display. A long, vertically curved date hand travels across the lower half of the watch from 1 through 31, physically passing above the exposed movement components. At the end of the month, the hand instantly returns to the beginning of the scale. This complication carries particular historical significance for the Maison: Breguet notes that Abraham-Louis Breguet was among the early watchmakers to perfect the retrograde date and incorporate it into his creations.
Inside is the automatic Caliber 505Q, composed of 269 components and delivering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The movement operates at 3 Hz and incorporates a silicon Breguet balance spring, combining the visual language of early Breguet watchmaking with distinctly modern movement technology. The result is a watch that does more than reference Breguet's history—it deliberately puts the mechanical architecture associated with that history on display.
